Good to know

Youth support — FAQs

Who is Sunnyday Carers youth support for?

Our youth support is for NDIS participants aged 7 to 18 with disability across Sydney and NSW. We tailor day programs, community access, in-home support and respite around each young person's goals, interests and support needs.

Is youth support funded by the NDIS?

Yes. Youth day programs, community access and respite are funded through your child's NDIS plan (Core and Capacity Building budgets). There's no out-of-pocket cost for the supports themselves — we bill your plan manager or self-managed plan directly.

What programs and activities do you run?

Creative arts and music, sports and active play, social skills and mentoring, life skills and independence, supported community outings, and after-school and school-holiday programs — all designed to build confidence, friendships and independence.

Are your staff safe to work with children?

Every worker holds a valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance, and passes a national police check. Our team is trained in first aid, positive behaviour support and trauma-aware care, and we keep families updated regularly.

Do you offer respite or short stays?

Yes. We offer age-appropriate respite and short-term accommodation (STA) so families can take a break while young people enjoy a safe, supported and fun stay, plus in-home and community support during school holidays.

How do we get started?

Call (02) 8897 2621 or enquire online. We arrange a free consultation, review your child's NDIS plan, introduce the team, and settle your young person in gently — working alongside your support coordinator the whole way.
